FAQ

Where and how to book tickets for the Alhambra?

There is only one official website selling The Alhambra’s tickets. So do not let them trick you and do not overpay. Since 2020, the Council of the Alhambra offers you a new system that facilitates the booking of tickets to visit the monument, through its website: www.alhambra-patronato.es. It is the only official website for purchasing tickets and allows you to buy them up to a year in advance. And if there are no tickets available there, you won't be able to find them anywhere else - there is no possibility of resale! Once you have bought your ticket, you can join a group to enjoy your visit to the Alhambra even more. You may only come once in a lifetime, and you don't want to miss a single detail. So, join a group! And it will cost less than you think. Enjoy the Alhambra for the right price. However, we can also book the tickets for your visit if you would prefer.

If I buy my own tickets, can I join a guided tour?

Did I hear guided tour? You've come to the right place. Once you have purchased your tickets, you can join a group and get to know every corner of the Alhambra and the Generalife with our Official Guides. Did you know that the Alhambra and the Generalife are huge? That's why we offer you this option so you can enjoy the visit without stress, worries or unnecessary waiting, enjoying your experience to the fullest. A 3-hour visit that includes an Official Guide, individual audio system and our 'traveller’s kit' (a bag with water, snacks and a detailed map of the whole route). Everything for just 15€... And if you prefer us to purchase the tickets, enjoy a guided tour to the whole Alhambra with all the safety measures in small groups to ensure the health of all visitors for just 32 €! Pay less. Get the best option at the lowest price.

What if I prefer a visit just for my family or group of friends?

No problem. If you prefer one of our Official Guides to work exclusively for you and your small group, just let us know. This is an ideal option if you are travelling with children or older people. A visit at your own pace, adapted to your preferences and interests. And for much less than you think. Book your tickets for the Alhambra and contact us. It is the first step to an unforgettable day in one of the most beautiful monuments in the world. And if you prefer, we will handle everything and book the tickets for you and your family.

Is it possible for a person in a wheelchair or with reduced mobility to visit the Alhambra?

The Alhambra has an 'accessible itinerary' that allows a person with mobility problems to visit the most emblematic places of the monument: Court of the lions, The Court of the Myrtles, the Throne Room; Palace of Charles V, Medina and the Court of the Main Canal in the Generalife. As we are in a citadel built in the Middle Age, it is inevitable to come across areas with stairs, cobblestone pavements and difficult access. For this reason, we recommend the private visit option which will allow you to go at your own pace without the stricter schedules of a group.

Is it possible to visit the Alhambra with a baby stroller?

In most areas of the Alhambra and the Generalife, access with baby strollers is not allowed. Therefore, the best option is to replace it with a baby carrier bag. If you still bring a baby stroller you can leave it during the visit at our meeting point, the Alhambra Meeting Point, located next to the Alhambra tickets office, where the tour begins and ends.

How can I make a booking?

When you click on any of our products you can complete your booking in a few simple steps by filling in some basic information. You will also find a description and more details about it. Once the process is completed and the booking is paid, you will receive a voucher with all the details to your contact email.

Can I make my booking by phone or email?

If you do not find what you are looking for on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be pleased to answer all your queries. Just be aware that some of the discounts and promotions we offer are exclusively for online bookings; and when you make your booking by phone these advantages cannot be applied.

How can I pay for my booking?

The easiest method is to pay by credit or debit card on our website. If you prefer to use another method, please contact us. As for cash payments, they are only possible for activities and tours booked directly at our facilities, the Alhambra Meeting Point. By the way, did you know that we are right next to the Alhambra tickets office?

Do I have to bring my visit voucher printed?

No. Both the vouchers for our visits and the tickets for the Alhambra and the Generalife can be brought in PDF format on your mobile phone or tablet. It is better not to waste paper if it is not strictly necessary. Forests will thank us for it.

Do I have to bring the original documentation to the visit?

Yes, and it is very important. Each visitor must bring the document used to book the tickets: ORIGINAL ID card, passport or driving licence. Photocopies or photographs are not accepted. These documents must be presented at the various access controls to the different areas of the Alhambra and the Generalife. It is therefore necessary to carry your ticket (printed or PDF) and original documentation with you all the time. If you do not have the original documentation you CANNOT ENTER to the monumental complex. The regulations of the Council of the Alhambra are very strict in this regard.

Can I join the tour if I arrive late at the meeting point?

Our tours start on time because the Alhambra has very strict timetables, especially the access to the Nasrid Palaces area. That is why we always ask our visitors to arrive at our meeting point, the Alhambra Meeting Point, at least 15 minutes in advance. If you have booked a discounted ticket (students, over 65s, disability discount, minors, etc.), it is very important that you arrive in advance so that you can go to the ticket office and show your discount BEFORE the tour starts. In the case of discounts, you will have to arrive at least ONE HOUR before the tour starts in order to make the necessary arrangements before the tour begins. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise. In this case it is important that you call us on the contact number indicated on the tour voucher to let us know that you will be late. That way we can do everything in our hands to make sure that you join the visit, without causing any damage to the rest of the group. We will all enjoy and make the most of the experience.

Can I cancel or change the date of my visit?

When you book your Alhambra tickets, you will notice that it is not possible to cancel or modify them once the purchase has been completed. So, you must choose the date of the visit carefully. In case of cancellation this amount will not be refundable (except in those cases specifically contemplated by the Council of the Alhambra itself). Regarding the guided tours, you can find the cancellation conditions in the information of each product.

Are there other activities such as night visits to the Alhambra, the gardens, the surroundings...?

On the Alhambra website, www.alhambra-patronato.es, the only official website for booking tickets, you can find the different types of tickets for the Alhambra: day visits, night visits, visits combined with other monuments in the city... And with practically any of them you can join one of our guided tours. If you are not sure, you can ask us and we will help you to choose the one that suits the best to your needs. And if you want to complete your experience, we also offer you a lot of activities in Granada. Find yours!

Is there a public car park at the Alhambra?

Yes, there is a public car park next to the Alhambra tickets office, which is open 24 hours a day. The rates can be consulted at the entrance of the car park. Our facilities and meeting point, the Alhambra Meeting Point, is only 150 metres from the car park. If you don't want to get around Granada by car (which can sometimes be difficult), public transport is an ideal option. Either by bus (lines C30 and C32) or by taxi. Both the bus stop and the taxi stand are right in front of the meeting point, the Alhambra Meeting Point.

Do you offer visits for school and cultural groups, associations, etc.?

Yes, our team of Official Guides has a wide experience in groups of different profiles and ages. Ask us and we will advise you on the type of visit that best suits your needs, and we will even help you to get discounted or free tickets for the different monuments.
